Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto recently achieved designation as a ‘Certified Audobon Cooperative Sanctuary’. Ladies’ is one of 56 golf courses in Ontario and 910 worldwide to hold this title. Course superintendent John McLinden,is responsible for initiating the application, and has been recognized for environmental stewardship by Audobon International.

Ladies’ Golf Club is a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property. Close to 100 birds have been sited on the course, native plant species have been introduced, and vital food and habitat for bee and butterfly species are provided by the many gardens and naturalized areas.
