Meet Jaime!

If you’re like me, you struggle every day with how to fit in everything on your to-do list and still find time to up your game – in golf, in life.

We may not be able to help you win at everything, but we can help you build skills and ideas for connecting your most important strengths: your body, your mind, your creative expression. You’ll learn to play with calm, control and mindfulness – skills you can use in everything you do.

Ladies’ has been a pioneer in golf instruction for almost a century. We’re all about helping you play, learn and grow, and have fun doing it! No matter how much time or skill you’ve got, we have a learning program that will help you.

You’ll learn everything about the game, from putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and course management to fitness and wellness. We’ll help you build consistency and game execution. And we’ll help you track your playing performance and progress along the way.

You can choose individual or group instruction. You’ll have the chance to learn side by side with other women, and no pressure. And you can use our great practice facilities to work on what you’ve learned.

If you’re serious about your game, call our Academy to find out more. We can arrange a comprehensive swing analysis and a learning plan that’s custom tailored to your specific needs.

See you soon!

Our philosophy

Feel good golf

At the Ladies’ Golf Academy we do things differently.

Our approach to teaching is based around three core pillars: joy, inspiration, and individuality!

Find your joy

We believe the things we pursue should bring us joy and build us up. We want you to love golf as much as we do. So our lessons are filled with fun, friendship and feeling great. The joy of fresh air, sunshine and serene surroundings, and the unmistakeable thrill of a shot well made.

Inspire yourself

Learning a skill like golf can be difficult – we get that. We also believe you can do anything. So we provide unwavering support through patience, encouragement and zero pressure. We want to help you find your inspiration through the thrill of this timeless game.

You are awesome

Everyone is different, and we celebrate those differences. Not just in physical form but skill level, motivation and learning style. So we tailor our instruction to each learner and we focus on the specific needs and goals of each individual. We want you to just be you, because you are awesome!

Meet our golf pros

Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or seasoned golfer, we want to help you make your game the absolute best it can be. At the same time, golf is a game, so we want it to be as much fun as it can be. Finding that balance is what our team of golf professionals is all about.

Meet Padraig Kelly,
Head Professional

I help players learn by relating their golf swing to other sports. I often use aids like baseball gloves/ bats, hockey sticks, pool noodles, Frisbees, footballs and soccer balls to help. By relating the enjoyment of the game to other real-life situations, I help students get the most out of their learning time.

Paddy has led Ladies’ pro team since 2013, and brings almost 20 years’ experience in the private golf club environment. His career includes teaching roles at St. Andrew’s East, Coppinwood and Granite Golf Club. He is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Durham College.

Meet Jaime Steedman
Head Teaching Professional

No two individuals are the same, so I tailor my coaching to each student’s needs. I focus on the fundamentals of the swing, because getting those down will help any player improve. I want to help them better their game so they can enjoy it for years to come!

Jaime brings a wealth of golf and teaching experience, starting her career with the Golf Association of Ontario in 2004. She spent six years at Hamilton Golf and Country Club where she was Junior Academy Director and Associate Professional, before moving to The Clublink Academy at Glen Abbey Academy in 2015. She has been Head Teaching Professional at Ladies’ since 2016.

Jaime studied Golf Management at Humber College where she was part of the provincial and national champion Women’s Golf Team. She was also the first female varsity golfer to represent the University of Waterloo and was named Ontario First-Team All-Star after women’s golf became an Ontario University Athletics-sanctioned sport. She was a PGA of Ontario Teacher of the Year Award nominee in 2017.

Meet Dylan Cattanach,
Associate Professional

I love meeting individuals who are interested or determined to learn and improve their golf game at any time. Using the basic fundamentals as well as other related sports and techniques, I can help guide students to an improved swing which will ultimately lead to more enjoyment on the golf course with family and friends.

Dylan has been apart of the Ladies’ team since 2012. He worked in the backshop while attending Queen’s University for three summers. His passion for golf and member service led him to join the PGA of Canada in 2015. After graduating with a degree in Economics, he continued his career at Ladies’ becoming an Assistant Professional while increasing his knowledge in both operations and teaching. At the end of 2018, he become an Associate Professional.
